Position: Water Wednesdays – Summer Reading Program Volunteer
Approximate Start Date: June 7, 2017
Approximate End Date: July 28, 2017
Brodhead Memorial Public Library is expanding its Summer Reading Program to include Water Wednesdays, a program that will talk about the amazing properties of water as well as the wonderful water resources around our area and the animals that inhabitant them. Tasks will include working with library staff to prepare water-related science projects and crafts, creating examples of projects/crafts, being on hand to assist during program hours, and cleaning up after each program.
Volunteers for this position must be available on Wednesday afternoons from approximately 12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Additional time to prepare projects could be done at other times during library open hours. We estimate that each volunteer would give about 4 hours a week in volunteer time over the course of seven weeks, totaling approximately 28 hours. We are hoping to have 2-3 volunteers for this program.
This position is perfect for high school students looking to complete a senior project over the summer or those who enjoy natural resources and want to give back to the community. Volunteers must be at least 14 to apply.
If you have questions about this position or would like additional information, please contact the library at (608) 897-4070.
